This is the last segment of this series on the Top Ten reasons why Network Marketers Fail. I really dislike the term fail so I will say, most people do not succeed. I have already discussed many reasons why people don’t succeed in Network Marketing. There are numerous reasons why people do not succeed but I specifically chose the reasons that I felt impacted people the most. In this final segment, I am summing it up and combining the last few reasons together. There is a saying; you cannot succeed at something unless you have the desire to commit to it!
The final and #1 and #2 reasons why network marketers don’t succeed is Education and Marketing, actually the lack of it, which are the main reasons why people literally QUIT; become frustrated, lose ambition and simply give up. Here is an example! Consider this, it takes a doctor eight plus years to specialize in their profession and they constantly have to update their education in order to stay up to date in their field. The same can be said for many professions, lawyers, engineers, nurses, etc etc etc.
Think about it; what do most of the people that join a MLM organization actually know about Internet & Network marketing, general marketing skills and what are they willing to do to learn about it. It is imperative that you have a will to learn and to be coach-able and this cannot be stressed enough. Just look at the name, Internet Marketing, Network Marketing, Direct Marketing. You got it, MARKETING! What do the majority of the people that join these company’s actually know about marketing, especially for a network marketing company.
Oh yeah, I learned the hard way too, I was just like most of you out there. This is why I picked education and marketing as the number one reason for the high failure rate because without the education, there will be no leads, no money, no prospects, no need for you to have motivation or persistence or commitment. I know that this was without a doubt, the main reason that attributed to my slow success in the Network Marketing arena. I decided that I would learn all I could about network marketing and to be completely honest, it does come with a price, both monetarily and time commitment but the end results can be very rewarding. I also learned that I needed to be around successful people and learn what they did to become successful. I literally dissociated myself from negative individuals; they are like a virus and if you want to be successful, you need to distance yourself from negative individuals yourself.
I decided to study the top network marketers and find what it was that made them so successful. With the exception of a few, it took most of them time to become successful as well. One thing they all had in common was that they all educated themselves in this field and utilized relationship and attraction marketing. You must create value and trust for yourself before people will buy from you or join your organization on a constant basis.
As I said, it takes a lot of time and money to rise to the top. I cannot even begin to tell you how much money that I have spent on courses and books related to network marketing, social networking, search engine optimization, attraction marketing and many more but I can tell you that it was in the thousands. On my profile pages or about me on my various websites, I mention that I spend a minimum of two hours a day expanding my knowledge on these subjects and that is a fact. I am asking you to ask yourself what is your commitment? Are you willing to educate yourself in the field or will you be another statistic along side with the people that don’t succeed?
A good friend of mine recently got involved in network marketing companies and has been very successful. One advantage he did have was he has been dealing with people all of his life mostly in the real estate market and already mastered the different characteristics and types of people. But, the first thing he did do was to associate himself with the leaders in the field and mimic them to a certain degree. We all have our unique style but this gentleman knows how to close the sale and that is because he creates trust, value and a sense of leadership and urgency. You too have to become active in this role. People follow leaders and if you want to be able to duplicate in your business, it is imperative that you become active in a leadership role as well. Become an expert of your product(s) and educate yourself.
To reiterate what I have discussed above, people have to feel comfortable with you, trust you, and value you if you really want to succeed. Yes, it does take time; it does take finances to purchase the courses and it takes time to master them just as it does to master a profession whether it relates to a college degree or a technical profession. The good news is you can still be successful while you are learning the skills as long as you are creating value for yourself and associate yourself with the right people.
I hope that this series has enlightened you even a little. I have said and many people in this industry as well have said that network marketing is one of the most difficult professions to master but the rewards that can be achieved far outweigh your typical job and will give you a sensational feeling about yourself and the people that you have helped along the way. Simply said, don’t give up. It is your drive to succeed that will get you to where you want to be. It is easy to give up. It is challenging to master the art of networking. Which one will you be?
